Bristol ABC Prisoner Support – Regular monthly discussion and letter writing meeting
Wednesday 11th February from 7 – 9pm
Kebele Social Centre, 14 Robertson Road, BS5 6JY
Hot drinks available by donation, please bring snacks to share.
We are in contact with a number of UK and international political and social prisoners, and related campaigns.
If you have an interest in supporting prisoners, and opposing the development of the prison industrial complex (PIC) in particular the new Titan prisons, and opposing the development of the surveillance state, then you are welcome to come along to find out more and get involved.
We provide stationery, stamps and campaign information – you provide the letter writing muscle. Info, advice & help on how to write to & support prisoners is readily available!
There are a few prisoners that we continue to focus on…
The Bristol EDO Decommisioners:
Elijah Smith (VP7551) HMP Bristol, 19 Cambridge Rd, Horfield, BS7 8PS
Robert Alford (VP7552), HMP Lewes, 1 Brighton Rd, Lewes, East Sussex, BN7 1E.
See EDO Decommissioners for more info, and support the solidarity picket of Bristol prison on 21 March – Resisting war crimes is not a crime!
We are continuing to look into supporting those detained during the present Greek rebellion, and the ongoing repression, criminalisation and murder of migrants in Greece – see the migrant support campaign.
We will also be planning ahead for Bristol’s Big Greek Benefit on 28 March at The Island – see flyer here (pdf) and here.
The Bristol ABC meeting is held in conjunction with the ‘Letters I Wish I’d Written’ group, who also meet monthly at Kebele. For more information, please check here (pdf).
We welcome any new information and updates about prisoner support campaigns from around the world.
